The time
The Maldives is half an hour behind Sri Lanka.
December to April
Peak season on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, then the cultural triangle and hill country in March and April. The Maldives is at its driest from January to March.
May to September
Sri Lanka’s east coast is at its best, and the Maldives is in its green season, with lower rates.
Your visa
Visitors are given a tourist visa on arrival, with a passport valid for at least a month, a return ticket and a paid booking.
